Welcome to the International SOS Members Air Pollution website.

Air pollution has become one of the most pressing environmental concerns globally. It is also a meaningful health issue. The World Health (WHO) estimates that air pollution kills about 7 million people worldwide each year - which means that one in eight deaths globally are related to air pollution. The  United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) calls it the “biggest environmental health risk of our time”.

A number of cities across many countries are routinely affected. This website provides general information on air pollution: how it is measured, what it does to human health and ways to protect yourself. Specific information is available for select countries and cities.
